Review of Dell Computer (Pty) Ltd - Head Office

I own a Dell XPS 12 9Q33 under service tag JX6BVY1. The unit is outside warranty and the micro video output port has worn and gives intermittent connection problems. As managing director I continually do presentations, and the problem causes great embarrassment during presentations.

I am currently on a business trip in Cape Town, South Africa, and I tried to order on-site repairs for this unit - which I am prepared to pay for. It took me 20 minutes to find a South African number to dial for support. Then the support consultant cut me off and I had to repeat the entire call process - wasting another 7 minutes. With the second attempt the support consultant managed to transfer me to "out of warranty" repairs. During this process I had to submit my Express Service Code 5 times. Eventually I was told the unit was purchased in Singapore and Dell cannot effect repairs unless I transfer the service tag from Singapore to South Africa - a process which will take 10 to 12 days. In 12 days I am back in Singapore.... and I need the repairs now!

Dell, you service delivery leaves much to be desired and my group of companies will not invest in Dell products in the future.
