Review of Telkom Mobile Canal Walk

The service I received from Telkom Canal Walk does not even deserve to get 1 star, but I cannot log this complaint without rating them. On 14/03/2015 I went to Telkom, Canal Walk to apply for a new cellphone contract - Samsung Galaxy A5 (R299 PM x 24). I completed an application form, provided them with a copy of my ID and 3 months bankstatements. I was told that they will first have to do a credit check before my application can be approved and processed. According to the Telkom staff member this would take a week and I would be contacted regarding the progress of my application. On 21/03/2015 my son went to the store to enquire if my application has been processed. They looked on their computer, but could not find anything registered under my IDnr. on their system. Later the afternoon I went to the store to enquire about my application.Nobody could give me an explanation why my application has not been processed on their system. In fact they did not know what had happened to my application. I was told that each Telkom staff member has a place that they lock up the applications that was handled by them and that only that person has access to it. According to them they just order the phone when an application is received and only contact you after the phone has been received. When I asked them if my cellphone has been ordered they could not provide me with an order form or any other kind of proof that the phone has been ordered. They told me to come back on the Monday, because the person that assisted me would then be in the store. On 23/03/2015 I once again went to Telkom Canal Walk.Once again nobody could tell me what had happened to my application and other personal documents. There were piles of applications lying around in the shop. So I helped them to search through all of these applications in order to find my application. My application and personal documents were however nowhere to be found. Nobody could give me an explanation for this. This is just absolutely shocking that important personal documents can just disappear. This is absolutely the WORST service I have ever received from a company. All I want is my application form, copy of my ID and bankstatements back in order to DESTROY them. I DEFINITELY DO NOT want a cellphone contract with Telkom anymore - even if they pay me.
