Solar Energy Group (Pty) Ltd (SEG) is an importer, exporter, wholesaler and reseller of top quality, leading brands of solar & renewable energy generation equipment and components as well as planned custom renewable energy systems that include: solar power, grid tied solar power, hybrid grid tied solar, backup power, solar water pumping (borehole pumps), wind & hydro turbines. The products we sell are very cost effective and include: solar panels, charge controllers, MPPT's, batteries, inverters, solar geysers, flat plate solar collectors, wind turbines, hydro turbines, small components and wiring as well as low energy appliances such as fridges and freezers. see ourselfs as a speciality renewable & alternative energy product and solution provider that focusses on sourcing and supplying quality products from around the world to our network of dealers, resellers and wholesalers world wide. We have offices on all the mayor continents that service those specific markets for both sourcing and supply purposes. SEG does importing, wholesaling and distribution but also sells directly to clients and single users. Our container load based bulk buying capabilities have allowed us to source a range of products at very competative prices which ensures that we can bring products to market at competative prices.

Our methodology is based on the world class energy efficiency and sustainability best practice principles as found in the book Solar All About by A v Heerden. These principles have shaped our business model and practical framework and has allowed us to become the successfull new energy company that we are.

The differance between the SEG methodology and other companies is:

We import products directly from manufacturers thus bringing down purchasing, transport & handling costs. SEG also has it's own warehouses and distribution centres.
All products and components are rigerously tested and rated, by our inhouse technical & engineering teams, before large shipments are done. Experiments and field testing is also conducted on new product ranges and technologies to ensure reliability and long term operational standards. This ensures that only quality products reach consumers. We will not sell a product we do not have 100% confidence in.
A strong focus on planning, management, monitoring and maintenance. SEG has over time developed a proprietary calculation model, based on a clients power consumption profile, that our team uses to plan and quote on power systems.

The interest of SEG's board in solar and renewables energy stems from a realisation that human kind is busy exhausting all the finite resources (like coal, oil and other non-renewable, carbon based energy sources) just to meet their basic needs and that perpetuating this situation is unsustainable and will ultimately lead to a total loss of habitat, animal and human life. This is a price that generations to come will have to pay for the current generations mistakes and carelessness. To help counter this SEG has set itself the mission of playing a mayor part in making Solar and Renewable Energy accessible and affordable to the general public.

The company was started by industry veterans that between them have nearly 30 years of Renewable and Solar Energy experience to fall back on. The directors have been in the industry from it's early inception to it's present demand phase and have grown their knowledge and accumin in lock step with technological and technical developments in this exciting and growing field.

Most marketing and sales are done on a business to busines (B2B) basis with a emphasis on strong and mutually beneficial relationships between SEG and it's clients. Relationship marketing is prefered in lue of print adds and the like due to the belief that word of mouth sales are still the most efficient and long term beneficial way of gaining and retaining clients and suppliers.

Apart from our wholesale and retail client base, our main clients are farmers, smallholders, home owners and businesses.
