Solar Panels

About the product
Solar panels or solar photovoltaic cells (PV cells) are used to generate electricity from solar energy. This is achieved by converting UV light to electrical current (DC - Direct Current). Solar Panels use the photovoltaic effect to convert sunlight (UV rays) into electrical current (DC)(Direct Current) that charges a battery bank through a charge controller in the case of a solar power system or is fed into the electricity utility grid (Eskom) through a grid tied inverter.

SEG is an importer, wholesaler and supplier of a complete range of Solar Panels to meet any power generation requirement, from security gate motors to home, farm, office & business power systems to solar farms. The sizes of panels vary from 10 Watt and 320 Watt (10 watt, 20 Watt, 30 Watt, 55 Watt, 60 Watt, 95 Watt, 100 Watt, 140 Watt, 145 Watt, 190 Watt, 210 Watt, 240 Watt, 245 Watt, 250 Watt, 280 Watt, 305 Watt, 320 Watt, etc. The brands we import and stock includes: Tenesol, Sunpower and Sanyo. These include polycrystalline and monocrystalline solar panels.

Selecting suitable solar panels for your solar power system is the second step in designing a solar power system. The first step is to determine system sizing by calculating the watt hours your household/business will be using on a daily basis, this will determine the amount of watts you will require per hour to meet the set demand (see the Solar Power Systems FAQ's section for more info).
