Highly unpleased customer
Today at Ballito Junction checkers I received the worst customer service from the lady who worked on till 9 by the name of Nomfundo who is rude and has gone as far as shouting across to tills cause I moved away from her and she continued to say I have an attitude and she is not the one who got me pregnant
I did speak to the manager but I ddnt leave my contact details because I would like that lady to tell me and show me results that have made her tell everyone around her that I'm pregnant
By the way I'm not but even if I was it would not be her business.

I questioned her service and she gave me the worsted attitude and I walked away and she continued

I will wait on the response on the matter and the positive results of my pregnancy before I take this further

Checkers Atrium Overport Durban
Usually I am just too tired...but today,I had to go into the Atrium in Overport (Post Office actually). So decided to do shopping in Checkers. I usually shop elsewhere & found very little to differentiate besides proximity.
But today I wondered where I was!!!. What a pleasure! CLEAN,ORGANISED,COURTEOUS FRIENDLY STAFF,WONDERFUL CHOICE OF BRANDS,FAIR PRICING & GOOD QUALITY. I felt I was in the U.K. There were no opened boxes with goods in the aisles. No people so busy packing & had no time to help. What a pleasure...Mind made up...this is where I'll go the distance to shop. I looked for dirty tiles, floor mops, buckets for cleaning, staff yakking & surely or yawning NONE!!! Could it be real? It was a sheer pleasure to even walk around...was it my lucky day? So I saw the manager..Leon Govender...who appeared worried as I said I have a big complaint! I told him about the wonder of this store after all the sheer rubbish we are accustomed to. Was it just my lucky day? I dont know! Awesome ????????????????????

Davenport service lacking
The new Managger at the Davenport branch has certainly made a difference at the store, however there is certainly a lack in keeping the flow of customers through the checkouts constant.
Yesterday I spent more time standing in the queue to pay for my groceries, than it had taken me to shop. It was around 4.30pm and a number of till points were closed, or in the process of being closed.
1. I do not understand that tills are not being manned at crucial shopping times, such as early mornings, SHOPPER'S luch times between 12pm and 2pm, and in the afternoons when SHOPPERS are on their way home, and need to purchase goods for their supper?
2. Davenport branch has seen a significant increase of customers over the years, and surely by now, the management would have picked this up?
3. There is supposed to be a pandemic called Corona Virus, and although we are in level 1, this virus still exists. Surely the manning of tillpoints should be a priority, so as to ease the flow of customers out of the store more rapidly, although Checkers seem to want to keep their customers in a confined space for even longer.
4. I was impressed by the security guard at Berea Centre's Shoprite, when they refused entry to a customer because he was not wearing a mask.Yesterday at Davenport, there was a man behind me in the queue not wearing a mask at all, and the security guard who was patrolling the floor, never even raised an eyebrow.....

There are other less convenient stores in the area, such as Shoprite, Berea Centre, Pick n Pay Musgrave and Spar Glenwood Village. The options are there, but as a loyal Checkers supporter over the years, I would not like to have to make a move to one of them.

PLEASE, as it is that time of the year too, sort out your cashiers and get the tillpoint flow moving. There was talk of a pensioner's queue, which I have yet to see????
I am diabetic, with chronic kidney disease, hypertension and swelling of the feet. It is extremely uncomfortable having to stand in a queue for 30min to pay for a handful of items....

Shopping at some stores is getting hazardous. Aisles are usually used for goods trolleys..Packers are packing stuff. It's an obstacle race.

My disgusting experience at Checker's Hyper Pavilion
Sat 11th Jan, was in above store and my daughters alerted me to the labelling on the cheeses. Mooivallei Cheddar was labelled as R9,49 per kilogram and Ladismith Gouda wrapped as R11,29 also per kilogram, as shown in the two attached photos. I queried this at the till and was bullied by Bruce Ramjass (Branch Manager) and Naresh Harilall (Assistant Manager Designate) - also photos attached and who argued with me extremely forcibly and unfairly. I told them that the pricing was extremely confusing, misleading and needed looking into. I also asked if I could have a kilogram of each cheese at the marked pricing and they both argued with me saying that I am not reading the label properly and that there is nothing they can do, as the supplier labels the products as they appear. I brought their attention to the fact that these labels are Checker's printed and produced labels, not the supplier of the cheese. I was told that I need to read the labels carefully as there is a tiny print which says "per 100g". I then asked why do they have the price and per kg labelled in bold AS WELL as have per 100g????? Very serious case of being mistreated, bullied by two large men and false advertising. I am currently seeking legal actions.

Commendable service from Angel Banzi-Shoprite Phoenix Plaza
I visited the Phoenix branch of Shoprite on sunday 12 November 2017.After completing my shopping i realised that the 12th was the final day to pay my tv license.I did not take along my statement and when i approached the counter i was met with Angel Banzi. She assisted me by giving me the sms number to get my easy number but when i sent that number it did not go through. We tried several people working in the store to put in the same sms number but they did not have air time. However Angel assisted by taking her own phone put my id number, got the easy pay number and i managed to pay my tv license.I want to commend her for going beyond her duties.Well done to Angel.

I had a very bad experience at Shoprite in KZN Richards Bay.I got a part-time job there and before I could even start I had problems. One of the employees blatantly discriminated me saying how bad the economy was if even coloured people were being hired, shockingly I'm not even coloured. A week or 2 passed and I called them than I was told that I had a criminal record I went to clarify that at the police station because I've never been arrested or committed a crime. I got there and there were no records of such, which was very confusing because if I had a criminal record the SAPS should have record of such. This has wasted money and my time because this is not good for my name,if they didn't want to hire me they should've said instead of this,I got bad attitude from the person I was dealing with which left me frustrated and angry

I have a complaint against the branch manager of Checkers in Bluff ( Selvan Nadesan ) . He's a rude arrogant person who has no respect for his staff whatsoever. He swears & talks to them any how on the sales floor, which is so unprofessional. I have a friend that works there & i was told that the managers are treated so badly. He makes them works like dogs, really long hours. During December the managers were only leaving after 12 @ night. & currently he's still making them work long hours with no time off or anything. He wants them to work this weekend ( 19 - 20 Jan ) with no pay & he wants to give them half a day off for that. Thats utter nonsense. Whenever i go to that store, he's never to be seen, when asked for him, he's always never there. How can he run a store if he's never there. Most importantly, the other managers there have lives & families that need them, why is this man trying to kill them. Thank you
