Review of CAPE ESCAPE HOLIDAY HOMES

1.0
International travelers be wary about letting from this company. Initially, we had rented the 11 Bellevue Rd property in Simonstown, South Africa and had paid in full via wire transfer 2 months prior to our arrival. This property was insufficiently secured and had no lower level burglar bars nor a gate, leaving it exposed to locals who harassed us consistently over a 24 hour period. This created a dangerous situation for all involved and resulted in my contacted Shirley and Yvonne (the owners of this company) to seek either a refund or alternative property. Luckily, they were able to accommodate us at the 75 High Way Road property located in Fish Hoek, South Africa. This property was adequate. Please note that they charged me twice for the international wire transfer ( I had sent monies above and beyond what was due to pay for their incoming wire transfer fee and then they deducted it again from my security deposit before returning it to me). All in all, we enjoyed our vacation but I’ve been to South Africa (CPT, Joberg, and Pretoria) and was with numerous other local South Africans. If you are not familiar with South Africa, please stay at another location that is secured such as a hotel or resort. Be very cautious about renting from this company without proper knowledge of the area as the descriptions of the properties are not accurate. If we come back to CPT, it will be leasing through another company.
