Role responsibilities:

  • Facilitate communication with related business stakeholders in the region as per directives from our client's headquarters
  • Develop our client's brand in the region according to communicated plans from headquarters, while fostering strong and enduring relationships with strategic customers and partners
  • Prepare annual plans and budgets for Africa and oversee their execution
  • Support the achievement of business planning objectives based on demand and supply dynamics
  • Coordinate business forecasts on a yearly, quarterly, monthly, and as-needed basis
  • Provide support for in-land logistics, documentation, discharge operations supervision, and related calculations
  • Address customer inquiries and handle complaints promptly
  • Follow up on payments, chase letters of credit, and ensure timely collections
  • Evaluate potential new customers and assess their expectations regarding our client's supply capabilities and product quality, aiding in the enhancement of customer relationships
  • Monitor and track customer performance
  • Maintain and expand our client's market share in the country
  • Gather and disseminate market intelligence within the region, sharing insights with other Business Units and headquarters
  • Manage local warehousing solutions and explore logistics opportunities in the market (e.g., bonded warehouses, ports)
  • Assist in the development of new products and prepare marketing plans
  • Anticipate changes in product mix
  • Monitor competitors' products, supply conditions, and local presence
  • Maintain comprehensive records and history files for relevant customers
  • Assist the Manager Business in implementing short and long-term marketing plans for SBU Phosphates Products
  • Review all business contracts
  • Propose payment and credit terms in line with authority schedules and Risk Management Guidelines
  • Coordinate with customers for any necessary amendments to letters of credit
  • Ensure timely delivery of products through coordination with logistics
  • Ensure the satisfaction of our client's customers and partners in the region.
The Successful Applicant

The candidate must have:

  • 12 years of varied experience in Africa fertiliser industry including various business departments and other operation/administrative ones.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a supervisory position
  • Strong knowledge of Africa Fertiliser industry & imports with respective relationship with main Africa importers
  • Proven track record of leading business department in large organisation
