We are a Portuguese Restaurant in the south of Johannesburg in Mulbarton, situated in the Olive Tree Garden Center. We cater for all functions ranging from 21st birthdays, engagement parties, kiddies parties, wedding receptions and many more. We are excited for new clients to show how Portuguese food is made.

Unethical "Owner"
⚠️ WARNING ⚠️
⛔️Don’t go to this restaurant! ⛔️
You will be perpetuating a highly toxic environment & supporting a disgusting, unethical individual. ????
The current “owner” - Mr. Joe Augusto - is real piece of work.
????Gender based violence runs rife here (he spits in the face of women????????♂️Police already involved) ????
???? Hygiene of the kitchen is sketchy (Health & Sanitation authorities alerted) ????
????Cheats on Labour Regulations & Employee rights (Can you say bargaining Council!?)
????Cheats suppliers. (Watch out folks ⚠️ you probably won’t be paid one day soon!)
????Cheats fiscal authorities. (Hello Mr. Tax man?!) ????????
????Intimidates his former partner that he’s going to SHOOT her & her relatives. (This after leaching-off the family 10+ years ????????♂️ Police alerted)
???? Treats the entire staff complement badly, Screams, swears & performs like a mad-man - in front of paying patrons. (See below WhatsApp message received 12 Feb 2022)
????This is the 2nd restaurant this guy “tries” to operate. His previous restaurant in Norwood (A Portuga) went bust a couple years back because he didn’t pay his rent. ⚠️Casa Minha is going the same way & I truly sympathize with the team who will loose their livelihoods when he decides to pack-it all in & disappear.
I expect this imbecile to retaliate in response to this review. I am not intimidated by Joe. I will not be silenced in the face of such behavior. I am prepared to take on the consequences of such a review.
