Shopping at Checkers is like going to war
As a pensioner, Once a month we prepare ourselves for a good monthly shopping experience at Parow Centre being 1 kilometer from our residence but to date it is like going to war with incomplete pricing, unconcerned staff and management who really don't care a damn. We spend more time trying to figure out the extra saving discounts in incorrect places or the extremely small print indicating specific items on a product on shelves where the products do not even exist. It seems that items on special are always out of stock. But my biggest gripe this time is when we prepared ourselves for our monthly shopping, we check the brochures and the app specials. On the app, being now specific, 2kg Tastic rice normal price R35.99, extra saving R24.99 at the Parow branch valued until 15th December. No such special advertised at the rice shelf. Spoke to a manager who conferred with two office workers. They checked the app confirmed that it was Parow stores and checked the system for the extra save, to no avail. They suspected it was a special for specific customer only "View My Extra Saving" but again to no avail. This was then given to the groceries manager, Ivan who I again had to explain everything from scratch. He again struggled to get onto the Internet and I suggested I carry on with my shopping and he can call me when he has sorted it out. After shopping, I requested to see Ivan who never bothered to contact me in the shop but no one could get hold of him. Another manager quite arrogantly wanted me to explain my situation and show him the app, etc etc which really got my gall. I insisted he get Ivan who supposed to have done a proper investigation and I will block the teller who was waiting to be paid for my monthly groceries. After quite a while, he sent another supervisor to rather mark down the rice for me so that I can leave. Absolutely no respect and concern or apology from management. This is the norm at this store. I would advise that an Executive level investigate this store as this is a month to month issue with our shopping experience and all we need is a good shopping experience with customer orientated staff. But top management is to blame for the incompetence and non customer service experienced at this store. Unfortunately, I will always be shopping at this store and will continually highlight the poor customer relations at this store. Hoping that this complaint receive the attention it deserves. Note: The aisle are clogged up with pellets of goods causing mayhem with the customers and the confusing prices as indicated on the photo attached
