DON'T USE THIS COMPANY!! We contacted them regarding a fridge which wasn't staying very cold (keeping a temperature of about 15 degrees) but was otherwise in very good condition. They replaced the thermostat at a cost of R580, which didn't fix the problem. We called them immediately, but they only returned 2 days later and exchanged the thermostat for another one, which STILL didn't fix the problem. Despite calling them repeatedly, they only returned about 3 days after that, when everything in the fridge was beginning to go off. At this time, the “technician” (Kenneth) re-gassed the fridge, then (when that failed to fix the problem), he replaced the gas dryer and did a a rush job of re-gassing the fridge again, telling us that this would DEFINITELY fix the problem. It did not. In fact, the fridge actually stopped working altogether. Subsequent telephone calls to both the technician and Kitchen Blues office were ignored (ie. they just stopped answering my calls). Out of desperation, we telephoned another company to come and see what the problem was. We were told that the fridge had been over-gassed and we would have to purchase a new compressor at a cost of R2000 to get it working again!!! Despite calling Kitchen Blues and leaving numerous messages, we have never had a single return call from them. This company is well-named - they will give you kitchen blues!!!
