Alternative Tourism SA promotes the interests of its members in a number of ways: We provide opportunities for alternative tourism service providers to meet and support one another We arrange for their participation in national and international exhibitions We ensure that they receive accurate industry-related information We develop projects in the Alternative Tourism field We promote genuine ecotourism products and services and the use of environmental education We support communities that have made conservation their business and have chosen to use alternative tourism as one of their strategies for local development We aim to ensure the preservation and sustainable use of South Africa’s natural, cultural and historical heritage
