NORTH WEST MUSIKON - Klerksdorp

THE NORTH WEST MUSIKON is situated in Klerksdorp and functions extra-curricularly in the afternoons from 13h00-20h00. Prospective candidates are tested for musical ability, or auditioned. Further tests assist in the choice of a suitable instrument. Learners have the choice of -WOODWIND instruments (Recorder, Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Saxophone, Bassoon), BRASS instruments (Cornet, Trumpet, Horn, Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba), CLAVIATURE (Piano, Keyboard), STRINGS (Violin, Cello, Contrabass, Guitar), PERCUSSION (Drums, Xylophone), INDIGENOUS instruments(Marimba, Djembe, Mbira), and VOICE. THEORY OF MUSIC as well as ORCHESTRA TRAINING is part of the curriculum. Learners may choose the syllabus of UNISA, or ABRSM
