MMAKAU MINING (PTY) LTD

Launched in the 1980's, Mmakau Mining has grown into one of Africa's most significant 100% black owned mining companies. From a contract miner, managing shafts and procuring for the large mining houses, the company graduated to ownership and development of its own mines in the early 1990's. The group significantly broadened its skills and mining services base through the aquisition of a 36% shareholding in Shaft Sinkers (Pty) Ltd, a world leader in shaft-sinking and underground construction. Today Mmakau Mining is a pioneering African mining group with interests in coal, platinum, gold, chrome, vanadium, uranium and mining services.
