Van der Bank Jewellers had humble beginnings in the Vaal triangle. Then trading as André Gold & Diamond Boutique in Vanderbijlpark. When André went on early retirement in Pretoria and worked form home, Van der Bank Jewellers was born. Setting up shop in Centurion, André Van der Bank works on the bench with his son, Marius. André's expertise of some 44 years of experience and an eye for detail can be seen in every dazzlingly beautiful piece that is crafted here. André Van der Bank now works on special orders and is available on appointment. Marius Van der Bank, with the experience and insight of a lifetime in the workshop, overseas the work, finishing and quality of some of the most exquisite pieces in the city. PR to the team. The unique design concepts of many of the Van der Bank ranges can be attributed to the fact that they open their workshop to many fresh, aspiring designers and goldsmiths. By assisting and training then, Van der Bank has served as a stepping stone for many accomplished artists and goldsmiths. This also aids in an influx of contemporary pieces and practical ranges. They are joined in the team by the likes of David Taylor, the workshop manager, setter and trainer for Nompumelelo Phiri (or Mpumi for short) our recent graduate from the University of Thwane thanks to MQA (the Mining Qualifications Authority). And not forgetting our most recent addition to this powerhouse, Rodwell Ramabula. He has been working on the bench for 11 years and is currently also learning how to set. Last but not least, Leigh Donian. She hails from a graphic design background and is currently our best designer. Using the latest 3D design software and rapid prototyping technology, she is also a great asset in the front of house and has been our operational manager for 2 years.
