When photographing in nature there aren’t the controls that one has in a studio; direction and intensity of lighting, angle of view, etc. But according to Tao philosophy, photographers shouldn’t take total control, rather let it be, and allow a scene to find its own level. As you relinquish control, you gain power. This permits spontaneity, which is what nature is all about. Nature provides the scenes which one can only dream of creating in the studio or on the computer - sunsets with clouds painted in dark red and black with silhouetted mountains, the beauty of a flower with varied colours, hues, textures and shapes. Nature can also be hard with contrasting lines and rough textures, only to be softened with pastels of evening light or the soft focus of rising mist. Nature’s scenes

From the soft light of dawn through to harsh light of the midday sun, and the in the evening the warm colours developing with the setting sun. The challenge of the nature photographer is to see and capture the images in a way that everyone can enjoy and understand.
