The Series 3000 Food Analyser is a Near Infrared Transmission spectrometer designed to measure protein, fat, water, sugar, alcohol, and other compounds in meat, dairy products, dough, milk powder ect in less than one minute.
The optics has 38 pixel, diode array configuration, it is setup for transmission and diffuse transflectance, basically what that means, the energy passes through the sample, unlike the reflectance NIR systems which are available. Sample presentation is crucial with a reflectance system, because the energy does not pass through the sample, only a small amount is absorbed, the rest is reflected back to the detector.
The instrument compares favourably to the opposition.
