Traumatic intimidation by manager and security with refund/exchange refusal
On the 10th of August I visited the Clicks store in Galleria Mall in Amanzimtoti to return my 2 months old heater which had exploded while plugged in and tripped my power supply at home. I was met by the manager Thabraiz Farouk, who said they would first need to ''test" the heater to confirm my story in order for an exchange/return to happen. They did this by plugging it into one of the plugs in the store, because it went on they refused to give me an exchange/refund and told me to take the heater back home as it was working. I refused to do this and insisted on a refund as this appliance was now a danger and hazard to my home. It also has a 1 year guarantee which I had proof of payment for. This gentleman insisted I take the heater and decided to call security for me because I was being "difficult" and he wanted to protect himself in case something happens. I found this very offensive and condescending as I didn't understand why he needed to call security for me because I was not being violent. I decided to leave my heater there as I was feeling intimidated by the security guards and this was causing a scene. I haven't heard from Clicks Galleria since. This was a traumatic experience for me and the matter was inappropriately handled.
