Review of Mariet Du Plooy Audiologists:Kloof Hospital Room G12

1.0
Terrible way that they conduct their business. I declined to make use of their service so they go to my wife(highly medicated after having a C-Section) and make her sign an authorisation form to go ahead with a service that our child did not need.

We are sorry that you are not happy with the services that were provided to your baby during the hospital stay. As per our previous communication with you, it is part of routine hospital procedure and as a recommendation from the pediatricians, that newborn hearing screening be offered to all parents when the baby is 2 days old. An audiologist explained to your wife that the test is claimed from the medical aid and that should the medical aid not pay, the account will be sent to you. The audiologist also asked if your wife would like the test to be performed and she agreed to it. Your wife completed the form, signed consent and the audiologist performed the test. Your wife was fully awake and completed the form by herself. At no time was it conveyed to the audiologist that you, as the father, did not want the test performed. Should this have been conveyed to the audiologist, the test would not have been administrated. We apologise for any inconvenience caused to you.
