Question for Paltech

Please advise in simple terms why a PAL T wafer style single eccentric T bar valve, may develop free play between the blade and the shaft, thereby allowing the blade to move minimally 0.5mm while the shaft remains stationery. The valve is 3 years old and manually operated few times every 7 days and functions in a low pressure environment.
