Kirby (Kuils River) - Cape Town

Aggressive and unethical marketing and business practices:
They repeatedly HARASS their old customers telephonically to come to your house to clean 1 carpet to get your opinion on the new Kirby machine.
Every time they phone, they LIE TO YOU, by repeatedly assuring you that they won't try and sell you a new machine, they just want your opinion on it.
However, when the agent arrives (and at the wrong time!) he will try and sell you a machine (no, actually two machines) before he has even entered your premises, and will not take no for an answer, necessitating one to eventually (politely) ask him to leave. In his own words, he said that it's the people at the office's job to get him into the premises, and his job to try and sell you a Kirby.... never mind that you already own a Kirby (albeit an older one).
Furthermore, they will LIE ABOUT PEOPLE THAT REFERRED THEM TO YOU, for the purposes of being contacted about the demo carpet cleaning.
Also, they CONTACT YOU FOR THE ANNUAL SERVICE of your machine 2 - 3 MONTHS BEFORE A FULL YEAR HAS ELAPSED since your last service....
Lastly, less than 3 weeks after the unpleasant sales session (under the disguise of a demo carpet cleaning) I was called yet again by the same person for the same purpose, but had hardly started to express my dissatisfaction with their business ethics, when the PHONE WAS THROWN DOWN IN MY EAR! I immediately called back to the same number (we have CLI), heard the same voice, that once again lied to me and denied that she (Tanya) had just spoken to me!
All in all, I've been harassed and lied to about so many things from these people so many times that I just don't trust them anymore, and want absolutely NOTHING to do with them!!! In fact I'm considering getting rid of my Kirby as a result of my bad experiences. There are other good quality vaccuum cleaners on the market as well... that DON'T set you back R20,000!
