Reviews of Jeandré Hartman Photography

I have to write an honest review as I believe everyone needs to know my experience with this photographer and his company. After having decided to book Jeandre Hartman Photography for our wedding (a booking made all the way from Australia), our wedding day arrived and everything was handled on time and with care. Up to this point everything was going fine. We had a great day, and Jeandre attempted to take all the photos we wanted him to take. Unfortunately, it was all downhill from there.
Jeandre Hartman Photography made promises to deliver our photos, albums and video on time and within an agreeable timeframe. Since we were on a tight time limit in SA, and keen to have our albums before we left back to Australia, we took a day out of our honeymoon to select the required amount of photos needed for him to complete all albums. This was promptly given to him and the wait started. And we waited. And waited. Every time a call or email was placed, we were greeted with an excuse as to why it was not done (ranging from a crashed computer, to a broken hard drive, to a divorce, even shifting blame to the person who was to make the album covers). At this point we had given up getting our albums on time and returned to Australia.
Further correspondences were made, albeit every time greeted with excuses and, in many instances even no replies. After 4 months we were delivered a couple of thank you cards, eventually able to send those out. By this time, we had partly gotten our lawyers involved, which did not seem to phase Jeandre Hartman photography at all. He even at one point got quite cocky in his replies to us. Again, blame was shifted now to the album printers. After month 5 we finally managed to get some of our video footage returned through our parents in what was called a “DVD Package”. What a shock that was. We refused to accept delivery for such a poor attempt at a DVD. Poor quality video, horrible sound. Blame for this was forced onto the venue. Now, after month 6, and though a very brutal approach through our lawyers and myself, was a settlement reached in regards to outstanding deliverables. I still have no albums, photos or video footage in hand (now waiting for delivery to take place).
Never in our wildest dreams did my wife and I think we would be exposed to such emotional distress from a photographer, the one person who is suppose to ensure that your future memories be a good one. We now have no video memories from our special day, and are hoping one of our friends is able to make us a video with footage that everyone else managed to take. We have photos, but knowing what distress it has caused just takes away from it all.
I will implore everyone to stay away from this scam artist and amateur. I believe there are many other much better companies who will make your day special. Do not, like us, fall trap to the sweet words and charming email correspondences leading up the sale. I am happy to open all correspondences between ourselves and Jeandre himself if anyone needs to verify our experience themselves. And lastly, should you decide to use Jeandre Hartman Photography as your chosen provided, be VERY careful of paying the whole amount upfront as we were told to do. Lessons have been learned.
