He's one surgeon I wouldn't recommend to anyone. 2013 he performed a spinal operation on me. The screws in my spine broke,when he got called to come fix it.he promised to call me back,that was over six months ago.till date he hasn't contacted me, unfortunately I have to live with unbearable pains from his faulty surgery that he's not willing to rectify. Instead he claims I owe him money from 2013,now if the screws didn't break when was he going to let me know I owe him. Have him operate on you at your own risk!!!!!!

It is thanks to Dr Chite that I am able to walk. Post the operation Dr Chite took the time ,on numerous occasions, to explain in detail my recovery process.

My husband was shot last year, he underwent extensive surgery under the care of Dr Chite. Words cannot express my gratitude for the dedication, thoughtfulness and compassionate during this time. Dr Chite went over and beyond and work tirelessly towards his healthy outcome. We are so blessed to have Dr Chte as his neurosurgeon. He is a true gentleman and his skill and talent is Exceptional My God Bless you and your family.. Thank you Dr Chite.

I have just had major spine surgery. This specialist neurosurgeon is such a gentleman.He organises everything necessary like physio coming into hospital etc. Explains everything in detail in such a caring manner.I would give him more than 5 stars if I could. Anyone out there you can trust his skill and care. What I like to know why some people have put unkind comments especially when he cant respond due to client confidentially. In my opinion u guys shld be ashamed of yr conduct. Why not try to spk to him personnally instead of attacking someone who cant fight back although he comes across to me he wldnt.

This Dr has no regard for human life yet alone human dignity,its been two months tracking him down on an operation done to my mother and to this day I am still searching for the correct answers on how my mother's operation went...we had to be confrontational to find out how exactly he was attending my mother's condition,to be surprised he was on leave until the day we rocked up.When we confronted him about this and to be specific about who his referral dr is he told us that all his patients were discharged...WHAT A SHOCK.hard to believe in these covid times....SHIT DOCTOR THIS CHITE

This is like a repeat nightmare! ALL very similar experiences of VERY unprofessional service- my friend went through the same thing, still waiting on a report! she is in nappies from a Tarlov cyst on her spine and was told ONLY Chite can help her. When you don’t even receive a report from all the tests and time you spent in hospital then what are you paying for? He did not even bother to see her in the hospital and then charged her for an emergency consultation! It’s ridiculous that there are so many people complaining about the same issues and still he carries on practicing! I’m very shocked by this Doctors lack of respect for his profession and patients and I am disgusted that he still charges people and never delivers. It’s a question of integrity!

I was involved in an accident in June. When I was discharged. I encountered dizziness and light headed spells for days. I could not get an appointment with DR. Chite for weeks. When I eventually escalated this matter and saw Dr. Chite for 5 minutes, I then receive a bill of R1000 for him doing nothing.

My husband saw Dr Chite in hospital and was there for a week going through tests and examinations for sciatica and back nerve pain . He was eventually discharged as Dr Chite could not help him surgically. Months later we get an account from the hospital for my husband's stay there as Dr Chite had never submitted a report to medical aid so that the medical aid could pay despite the hospital and myself asking him numerous times. My husband (a pensioner) now has to pay R36 000+ to the hospital as it is now too late to claim from medical aid. The task would have taken him an hour to do (I would even have paid if necessary), but there was no response. I have since tried to appeal to his sense of decency by asking him to pay this but do not even get the dignity of a reply. I am going to take this up with the Medical Practitioner's Council. I do not know what his ability as a surgeon is but if he cannot even get a simple thing like a patient report right, I would not like to do further business with him.

It's been 5 days my niece is in ICU waiting on Dr Chite who always promise to come but never does, his excuse is that he has many patients and he goes to theater most of the time. I hate how he lies and says he is coming but he never makes it

I've had 2 major back fusions both done by Dr Chite. I've been reading some seriously negative reviews on this site about him. Some complain about the charges. All specialists are expensive. One person said that the op was not worth the cost of it. Ridiculous. My screws and rods cost R********. That's what the company that supplies the hardware for my back cost. Not Dr Chite's fault.

Everyone is complaining about the costs but I didn't read any complaints about how unsuccessful their op was. Neither any praise on his professional manner, understanding and gentlemanly demeanour.

If you don't want to pay for the best rather suffer in silence. He is the best there is.

I was referred to Dr Chite by a GP, I had a brain tumor and said he can treat it without doing operation, but I waited for him for a very long time. Unfortunately he insisted for operation, he never gave me any medication or examining me, he just looked at my scans that were done in Durban. The medical aid paid for my stays in hospital and for him too, but now I'm being followed by emails that I'm owing him and they don't give me what is it that I'm owing to him. He is just a robber.

I was referred to Doctor Chite by my chiropractor. I was not impressed at all. His fee at the time was R1200.00 and I had to wait 40 minutes after my appointment time to see him which lasted a total of 10 minutes. My husband and I were a bit shocked but as we always do with doctors, we trusted him and followed through with his recommendation to be hospitalised and have all the investigations done. I had an MRI done under his instruction, following that I had an epidural procedure done but it was not clear to me what he had explained in the 3 minutes he came to see me after the MRI and Xrays. Following the epidural procedure, Dr Chite advised that he would be sending a physio to see me in hospital whom I would need to have a few sessions with and that this physio would assist me with back exercises and advice on daily activities such as driving, getting in and out of the vehicle, sports etc.. Dr Chite said he would leave a note with the nurses for an appointment for my follow up as well as a sick certificate for my work place as I was hospitalised for 3 days. He did not schedule the follow up appointment and did not leave a sick certificate. No physio came to see me. I was discharged and the next day I was suffering with a very bad headache and still had pain and I called his offices to ask if I should be concerned and also for my sick certificate and follow up appointment details. He was not available and I left a message. 5 hours later I called back and the receptionist said he was still not available. The next day I sent an email advising my concerns and that I was needing my certificate for work. No response. After numerous calls to the receptionist and numerous e-mails, the certificate was e-mailed to me. This was in March 2016. I am still waiting to find out when my follow up appointment is. As a cash patient this whole procedure was incredibly expensive and theres no value to ones health but not only was I left feeling that I had wasted my money, I was left feeling dissapointed and angry. This Doctor was unprofessional and I would never ever recommend him to anyone. The sad thing is he was recommended by a very respected chiropractor.

A friend of mine is in hospital 8 days with a serious back problem. He was supposed to see her the day she was admitted. He saw her four days later and a couple days after that.Twice in eight days. She can't walk because of her. Twice in eight days. Now tomorrow he's operating on her. She has to have it done but I really wish there was someone else for a second opinion.

Do not go to this doctor, goes back on his word when rates are negotiated. His wife does his accounts and can never be reached, she seems to contradict the doctor in practice policies. To complicate matters further the final costing is done by a firm in PTA, so to sort out your account is impossible. You might survive the surgery and succumb to unnecessary stress from unethical behaviour and empty promises. Please follow this advice. I have reported him to the medical council of South Africa.

I had an epidural procedure don but now am still experiencing pains though they are not the same as before.Am I going to be okay?
