ORA ANIMAL FEEDS

ORA Animal Feeds was created by Esther Burman some 10 years ago on her family’s game farm in South Africa’s Limpopo Province. It came about as a natural response to several circumstances - a severe drought which severely damaged the family’s citrus farming, the rapid conversion of neighbouring farms to game framing, and Esther’s burgeoning knowledge of the nutritional requirements of all sorts of farmed animals, including game. Today, ORA is a healthy business supplying many of Limpopo’s game farms which breed all sorts of valuable animals, including sable antelope and buffalo. control of baboons seeking food and coming into conflict with humans on urban edges. As the family farm runs around 20 horses it is natural that ORA makes horse feeds, with individual formulations to suit the various purposes to which the horses are put. This has naturally led to ORA supplying all sorts of stables, including the yards of racehorse trainers, some far from Limpopo. ORA Animal Feeds is a preferred animal feed supplier due to the company being able to customise feeds to the particular requirements of various animals and their “lifestyles”. This is a business where the mantra of "one size fits all" simply does not apply! As racehorse trainers know to their cost, animal feeds must be tailored to the needs of individual horses and their particular stages of training: ORA provides that customising to eliminate any need for further additives. ORA Animal Feeds presently supplies the animal feed suppliers of a total of 150 tons per month of feed as pellets or meal for most farm and game animals. This capacity will be increased to meet growth in both domestic and export demand, facilitated through a growing chain of distributors.
