KINDAWO - Pietermaritzburg

The children range in age from our toddler to a fifteen years old. One is in High school, five of them go to primary school. It is important to give them every opportunity to live a normal life and to ensure that they get the best possible education. Thoko lives in the house with me and helps care for the children day and night. The gardener works one day a week and is responsible for the garden. His duties include cleaning the verandah, the windows and my car. These staff members form the nucleus of a network of families that we help in many ways. Other families in the network are those people with whom I have worked in the past, and some whom I have met since living here.
