Reviews of LAKE BRENTON HOLIDAY RESORT - Knysna

Although Lake Brenton is a beautiful place to spend a few days camping, I was very disappointed with our stay. Not only was one of the three trampolines unsafe to play on with missing springs, but within 10 minutes of us arriving and setting foot on the ground, my 6 year old and I had ticks on our feet and legs. I understand that ticks can sometimes be expected, but Lake Brenton is infested. A friend that arrived at an adjacent campsite, also removed five ticks off her daughter, husband and her legs.Thank goodness I had tabard which helped. The pool "slide" is a crude fibre glass water feature on which I witnessed three children hurt themselves. The older abolution block showers had either boiling hot or very cold water and the water did not drain fast enough, so your feet ended up in a pool of water which is very unsanitary (although, I can say that the new abolution block was much better). We ended up leaving a day earlier than planned and as it stands, I doubt that I will pay Lake Brenton a visit again.
I love camping and my family and I do so at least twice a year. This is the first time I have written a review, but in doing so, I hope that the owners "clean up" their act.
