There are different units to fit single cabs, double cabs, Land Cruiser and Land Rover. The solid body makes it safe from possible marauders, of the wild kind and others. The frame of the RECCO is constructed of 25mm aluminium square tubing. Every joint is precision welded to give maximum strength. 25 mm polystyrene is inserted into the framework for good insulation, then it is bonded with aluminium cladding on the outside and Renolit ply on the inside. The bonding procedure of the panels makes a sandwich effect that further increases the strength of the construction. The pop up fibreglass roof is also insulated and panelled. It has a canvas surround with six gauzed windows that can be opened for ventilation and light. The roof is easily opened with the aid of four gas shocks. The roof is held close by four safety catches, which can also be locked.
