Dutywa (formerly known as Idutywa) is a town in the Eastern Cape of South Africa, formerly part of the Transkei Bantustan. It is situated in the wild coast on the N2 route between Butterworth and Qunu (President Nelson Mandela’s birth place) Dutywa is the birthplace of Thabo Mbeki, who became President of South Africa in 1999.
