Pecanwood is situated on 50 acres of prime land with spectacular views, approximately 15km outside Pietermaritzburg, in picturesque Birnam Wood, halfway between Hilton and Howick. Our views have rolling green lawns, tree covered hills, forestation, and views of the Drakensberg. This is Africa, in a very relaxed setting! We also boast the most amazing sunsets! View them from our sundeck over the dam, filled with awesome huge, tame fish that get fed by hand. Pecanwood is exciting and different! The Crooked Inn is a family restaurant and country pub, serving good wholesome food and generous proportions. It has an “African” theme and boasts a large screen for sports fans. cater for you. We also have braai facilities available and braai packs for sale. We then provide you with putu and sauce, and a salad. Our Mongolian Braai is now done for numbers of 20 to 120 people by special arrangement only. It is a Chinese stir fry, where you select your own choice of meats and accompaniments and add your own selection of sauces. Marope, our chef, will then cook it for you. It is “eat as much as you like”. The Mongolian Braai is, a very popular option for “functions”. Pecanwood Wedding Venue, which overlooks rolling hills and the ‘Berg, can comfortably seat 200 people, with ample dancing space. Our catering facilities range from simple menus for those on a tight “budget”, to exotic fare. Our gardens, and beautiful pecan grove, provide the perfect photographic setting.
