Company description
Samhitakasha is built from mud and straw, like many traditional African houses, but in this case using “cob” techniques perfected in parts of the west of Britain. It was built on a brown-field site, i.e. one that had a previous house on it, in an existing suburb (the previous house was demolished in the 1970s), rather than a green-field site – virgin soil which could be used for conservation or agriculture Wanting to share the pleasures of living in a cob home, we have created an Organic B&B, ideal for wholesome holiday accommodation in the beautiful city of Cape Town. The guest accommodation, with its own private entrance, consists of a spacious triple bedroom with ensuite shower and ablution facilities. The main bed is a luxury queen-size bed, and there is also a single futon bed Show more
suitable for an additional adult, which can be opened up into two futons if a family of four wishes to take the room. Linen, curtains, mattresses, towels etc. have all been made from natural and organic or recycled materials. The room features views of the Cape mountains. There is access to the garden (still in early growth, after a few years as mostly piles of sand and clay!) and off-street parking available.
