Professional & Great Value
Used this company to relocate my household from Dbn to Jhb. From the people in the office to the moving team. All round amazing service. What a pleasure and thanks for all the hard work, highly recommended.

Best service
What good old fashion service from this moving company. All our valuable Furniture was moved without and damages. From the Movers to the Office staff everything went so smoothly. Would love to say welcome to the movers that helped my family. Great job guys.

Wow what amazing service from Mountain Movers. All our goods were moved so great from Kzn to Jhb.The staff that loaded and ff loaded were great and so friendly. Highly recommended and affordable Rates

Fraud
Contacted Mountain Movers for an urgent move from KZN to JHB, although they were double the price of another competitor, decided to use them as they had raving reviews whereas the other company had poor reviews. I honestly feel the reviews must have been paid for / fraudulent as we had a terrible experience and nothing like what any of the reviews described. 1) Late picking up our stuff, every 30mins we had to call and we got told they'd be there in 30mins. This happened 3 or 4 times. 2) Sent a truck too small and the staff didn't know how to fit everything in. We had to assist and explain how to best pack their truck. 3) Specifically asked for wrapping on certain items which was not done - was told this will be done later on when they switch trucks. 4) When the truck arrived in JHB multiple items were damaged and scratched, with one or two items being broken. Contacted the owner Gareth straight away and was told they would send someone to assess the damage as they "have insurance" which covers these things. When the movers left, one of the staff members still asked us not to report any damages as he would get in trouble - admission of damaging our goods. 5) This was 19 December 2019 and have still not received any feedback from Gareth. He is ignoring all emails, calls, text messages and whatsapps. His cell number apparently no longer works. I would not recommend anyone ever use this company as if you have any issues, they block you on all platforms so that you cannot contact them.

Firstly kindly note that you were informed that we can commit to time as we have no hold of road conditions and unforeseeable circumstances. We communicated to you every step or the way and we did not have you call us to asked what was going on. You were kept in the loop through the delay and also the entire process.

2ndly. We collected all the goods that was listed and most important everything fitted correctly and after your pick up we still had other picks up to do, which we picked up the other clients goods as well. So there was never any spacing issues regarding your goods. You paid to have certain goods moved and was listed and every single one of those goods were collected and delivered.

3rdly, no payment or any special wrapping was charged for please refer to your Quotation. There was no mention of special wrapping on tour Quotation pr acceptance form nor was it stated on any of our documentation. Weather we switched your goods to another truck has certainly no bearing on you as a client as all your goods were collected and delivered. You paid for a shared load not a dedicated load. So from a financial aspect we move goods in bigger trucks to allow us to move more volume.

Fourthy, still to date the only items that were reported was a few scratches on a table which at this point we cant be held liable for as those scratches are not covered in your Quotation. Please refer to the Quotation provided. Also had you paid for special wrapping which you say you did we would of wrapped your items special as you paid for it. Please refer to your quotation.

Lastly, the views that you and your husband are putting across is that we falsely writing reviews and also lying to client. Kindly note that this is not true and also we have thousands of repeat and happy clients. You and your husband repeatedly post reviews all over and stating that this is on going for over 3 months. Kindly note that your goods we moved 1 month ago.

Worst Moving Company By Far
Everything was on track for a great move. I had completed all the packing of boxes and even went to the expense of getting wooden crating make up for our TV's, paintings and glass table tops.
At 14:51 when the Mountain Movers truck arrived, I raised concern that the truck would not be big enough for our household inventory as submitted. The agreed number of labor stipulated on the quote was 7 but only 2 guys arrived.
At 15:35 I once again raised concern that the truck would not be big enough, Gareth however assured me that as per my inventory list and his calculations the truck would fit all the household goods
At 17:42 I spoke to Gareth for the last time on my phone with regard to the size of truck and the fact that not everything would fit
At 18:56 the driver contacted Gareth to inform him that the consignment would not all fit into the truck and he needed to make a call on how to proceed. We then spoke and Gareth informed me that he would need to make a few calls to see what arrangements he would be able to make
At 19:30 we discussed that Gareth would try his best to get a truck to collect the remaining items on Monday but he was doubtful about it and would only be able to collect the consignment on Tuesday as he would need to make arrangements with his other client. He would contact me on Monday before 10 am to let me know if Monday would be possible or whether the consignment would be collected on Tuesday. I informed him that my tenants would be moving into the property on Tuesday and they required the space in the garage for their vehicles.

Our discussions proceeded on Monday 26 February:
At 08:45 we spoke and Gareth informed me that they would not be able to collect the consignment on Tuesday but would be able to guarantee a collection on Wednesday.

I have the following comments with regards to the service experience thus far:

The 2 laborers were not professional and I had to remind them on numerous occasions that the boxes labeled with the orange fragile stickers cannot be loaded at the bottom of the stacked boxes.
Although blankets were used, no furniture covers or bed covers were supplied and they only used the bubble wrap on my insistence and I had to supply them with buff tape as none was supplied to them. I have the scratches on the side by side fridge freezer, dinning room table frame and mahogany sleigh bed frame as well as other the single bed frames.

They requested that final payment was received prior to off loading which I provided and proof of payment was submitted.
Their quote provided for 7 staff and a supervisor which was not supplied.
Their quote supplied for blankets and bubble wrap which were supplied, no furniture covers or bed covers were supplied
Their agreed upon dates were collection on 24/02/2018 and delivery on 25/02/2018 which was not met

My wife had to travelled back to Secunda from Winston Park at our own cost to be present for the truck to be loaded. Keys were meant to be handed over to our tenants on Sunday which we moved to Monday and then had to move to Wednesday.

This is by far the worst Moving Company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I would never recommend them for any move, not even scrap.
LISTING OWNER
Firstly the inventory list supplied to our brand was incorrect and also there was numerous additionals that were moved with out been quoted on.

However if we had merely moved the inventory list provided by yourself then all the items would have been moved.

However we also moved all the additonal items at no cost to you. However are aware of the inconvience caused but not with standing no additonal cost for those unlisted items.

In terms of service our employees also stated that you were were very pleased with the service and also issued every employee a tip for the service recieved.

By all means your statements across the platforms are incorrect but we take no offense.

one year later still waiting for my broken goods to be fixed and replaced
Mountain movers handled my move from Midrand to Umkomaas. They broke so many of my stuff boxes of glass items not to talk about my weber braai lid, the lid of my washing machine and lots more. Empty promises for a year and nothing has been replaced. I have sat many days cancelled appointment waiting for Gareth to show up with my items. Now a year later he does not even take my calls. really made me a fool waiting fir empty promises.
