Excuse after excuse.
I have been having problems with Hawkeys Electrical and contractors which I am now honestly tired of. I made payment to them on the 16th of March 2021 after William had said that when payment is received he will send his guys out immediately to go repair my garage motors and my intercom. We made the payment and then he no longer communicated I then gave William a call trying to find out what the delay is because the monies had reflected on his side and he then sent me a Whatsapp on the 20th of March asking for my address and that he will be sending his guys through at 12 pm on that day.

The guys arrived and did a half job and then left and didn't say anything I then queried the following day on the 21st of March 2021 to find out when they will be coming back to finish the job they had been paid for to do and he said Tuesday Morning and apologized as this was the fifth delay that had now introduced to us. I kept calling my calls being ignored and he then sent me a message on the 24th of March 2021 asking if there will be anyone home and that he wants to send through his guys.

I then called him as neither he nor his employees arrived to finish off the job.
on the 30th of March 2021, I called him again asking him to please return our monies so that we could find someone else to do the job efficiently he then said that he will come through on the 31st of March 2021 by 12 pm to finish the job. he came through but there was no finishing of the job. It's been over two weeks with WILLIAM giving me excuses and I'm awfully tired of it. if he had a heavy workload he shouldn't have accepted the job out of greed. I really wish I could rate him a negative star because I am honestly tired of this and I do not wish this type of unprofessionalism onto anyone else.

Job well done
My DB board fried. I stay in the upper highway area. I called Hawkeys electrical and they came out the same day and re-wired the entire thing in about an hour and half. The guys were friendly and things work. Good job guys :)

UNACCEPTABLE SERVICE AND UNETHICAL BEHAVIOR
I was in the cape Province on holiday when a fault occurred on the cable that runs from the municipality's distribution box to my property. i owns a guesthouse and i contacted William from Hawkeys Electrical to come and install a generator at my property as i was not sure how long it would take the municipality to fix the cable. He first tried to con me out of R******** by claiming that i have to rent the generator for a minimum of 4 days and quoted me R********.
When i told him that i cannot afford this, he agreed that i can rent the generator on a daily basis. For this he charged me R8500. This fee included a deposit fee of R3000, a connection fee of R4200 and a day's rental of R1300. He told me that the generator belonged to his brother. After demanding that i pay his before he can come and install the generator, i paid him R8500 on the Friday morning. He then send one of his employees, who turned up at my property at about 3pm Friday afternoon, claiming that the generator had to be collected in Umhlanga rocks.
The crux of the story is that the generator actually never worked, not even for 2 minutes as it kept on tripping, and luckily for me the Municipality in the meantime came to install a temporal cable, and the electricity was restored the same Friday.
I phoned William the same Friday afternoon, informing him that the generator never worked, that power was restored and that he had to come and collect the generator.
William just left the generator at my property for the whole weekend despite me calling him again on the Saturday morning to come and collect it.
When i returned home on the Monday afternoon the generator was still and my property, i called William again, and told him that i cannot be held responsible for the extra days, because i informed him on the Friday to come and remove it. Tueaday morning staff from Coastal Hire in Pinetown turned up at my property to collect their generator. It was only then that i learned that William from Hawkeys Electrical has been telling a lot of lies.
Coastal Hire informed me that the generator can be rented on a daily basis. William rented the generator from them. The daily rate is R575 per day including vat. This means that William more than double charged me on a days rental, besides the exuberant connection fee of R4200.
He made several promises to refund my my deposit and sand half of the cost of the daily rental, but up to date, and 3 months later, i have not received a single cent from him.

William Hawkey was recommended by a friend to install an inverter(UPS) when power cuts were the norm. We spent, literally, tens of thousands, of rands to install the inverter to power our home. He installed a Powershield unit. We experienced problems with the normal electricity supply as connections were problematic. William did more work, which we paid him for. Unfortunately, he has a tendency to verbally quote a price and then bill you differently, which led to further problems.

A little over a year later, I do not even have the inverter. I called William Hawkey of Hawkeys electrical to service the inverter. He took the unit away to repair in September 2016. He sent me a quote for R6 400 which I accepted and unfortunately paid. I have not seen William since. Into the fourth month and he still has not returned the repaired inverter.

I have heard every excuse- it's raining so I can't deliver, the unit is 'shocking' so it's unsafe, the company in Joburg is closed for the holiday. I have now laid a charge of theft against William and will take legal action.

I do not want another person to be as out of pocket as we are, neither do I think it fair that we experience such stress and anger. DO NOT employ Hawkeys electrical.

The repair is not done Hawkeys electrical ,I just provide a service of installing it.it is out of my hands . I have apologized that it dose take time as they are battling to get it fixed. The company that imports them discontinued the the power shield unit. I have offerd to return the unit and money , as the repair is taking to long , Vishini Maharaj has declined my offer. We are promptly on putting pressure on the repair .
