Today, I took my car to BMW Midrand for a service. They call me to advise me that they can't unscrew the lock nut on my tyers and they will charge me R2000.00 to break the lock nut. I mean I bought that car with those nuts from them. What a bad way milking your clients. I am very disappointed.
I have complained to the CAPE TOWN SMG branch yesterday about their poor service and empty promises as my temporary plates that was issued to my car three weeks ago is expiring today, I even copied customer care!!!GUESS WHAT? No no-one even bothered to acknowledge my complaint.
I drived BMW more then 10 years and I really like but there was horrible exprince this time...
I had really the worst experience in Capetown Claremont service center.
My vehicle had 100,000km service and maintence plan and I brought it just before 100,000km to Claremont service center.
One of service staff told me that he will check everything which must be done within 15000km.
Especially he commented that he will change engine oil and filter and break pad and etc
because it is comming service within 1000km.
Service was delayed about one week which had never happend before.
After one week he didn't print out what they done which must be signed all the time.
and he told me that they changed engine oil and all the filter and etc.
I belived and came back ....
After service I drived less then 1000km and I saw that I must change engine oil again.
and I complained to the service department staff that he didn't change engine oil.
He ignored me and just is telling that he didn't told me about it and he can not help at that time.
BMW don't care with customer if vehicle service plan is expired?
They delayed and didn't print invoice and explain and cheat with me ...
There should be a zero rating as well. My story is a sad one where neither BMWSA or the dealership SMG Cape Town really paid attention to the problems experienced. Instead they buried their heads in the sand. Sqeeky brakes in a brand new vehicle which does not have 2000km on clock. This after my previous vehicle had exactly the same problem for 3 years. What are the chances that its my luch with two brand new vehicles having the same problem 4 years apart?
I am really disappointed with the service I got from BMW alpina boskburg. Its the second time I'm taking my car in to them for factory fault and every time I'm left stranded with no transport home and it always seems like they do not care how I get home when they have to keep my car in overnight. This is really unacceptable!!!!!!!!!!!
I have bought a new 2016 ADV 800 last year. it had a vibration on the foot pegs and BMW tell me it is normal. The bike start and non start off and on. It was only discovered after endless complaining to BMW that the key was not read by the ignition. It was changed but now the same problems pitched up again. The bike have 9800 km on the clock and is my only transport. I use it to work daily, if it starts. BMW can not find the problem and it seems that they do not care about the client after they have sell the bike to you.
I took my Bmw for a service to Somerset West on 12/05/2017.They promise me that they will bring the car to me before 16.00.At 16.50 i had to get my wife to pick me up because they did not know where their driver was but they will try to get the car to me before 17.00.We used the car on Wednesday and immediately notice a sound at the rear and my wife took the car back to Bmw on Thursday.The consultant told my wife that they can not help her and that she must make an appointment because they need the car for a day to check the problem.This is not the first time i experience problems with Bwm Somerset west.
I have been driving Bmw for the past 30 years but this is my last Bmw.
I am utterly disgusted with the after sales service I got from Auto Alpine Boksburg, I bought a BMW 120D 3 weeks ago when I took the car for new set of tyres the Rims on the left hand side were buckled front and rear. when I complained they send me an inspection report which does not say the rims are fine. the Dealer Principle does not have a decency to return my call. I feel that I made a mistake buying this brand as they give you good service when selling the car but terrible after sales service. I will not promote this brand or recommend this dealership. the Germens would be disgraced with the bad service given by there dealerships in South Africa and also spoiling there name.
Good day , I would like to give my opinion of how disgusted I am with BMW on call , I have driven numerous BMW motor cars and BMW motorcycles , I have refer many people and convert so many people to buy the BMW brand because of their "excellent" service and their assistance in case of an accident , medical emergency , breakdown etc.
I bought a brand new BMW R1200RS 2016 model motorcycle from Auto Alpina in Boksburg ,got a brand new BMW 320I last year November 2016 for my wife , I personally driven 5 BMW motorcars in the past , we went on a Cape Town trip on the 17th March 2017 with 8 people all on BMW motorcycles ,on the 20th March I had a mishap on my bike when it slipped on gravel en fell over to the left side , a stone made a small hole in the cylinder head and all the oil spilled out on that side , me and my wife were stranded in Underberg and then I phoned BMW on call , someone picked up and asked me what the emergency was , after explaining that we are stranded and need assistance , the lady said she will come back to , she did came back to me with a quote of R10000 to bring the bike to Johannesburg , this was absolutely absurd to charge a person which need help and to take the bike a distance of +- 470 KM , everybody else we phoned was between R2200 and R3000 , because the bike is still under warranty , I didn't do it as it could jeopardize my warranty .
I can let you know that I will never buy a BMW again I will never promote your Brand again , I am going to change to another brand , my wife want to sell her car which got 4000 km on the clock , my friend is all disgusted in BMW as they claim to be the best in customer service , the empty promises they made to assist when you in trouble is a lie , the saying goes that you will see how good your service provider is when you in trouble , I am taking my bike to a friend to service it because you warranty and so call assistance means absolutely nothing , it is very unlikely that any car will ever breakdown if you look after it and service your vehicle every time it is due , so what do BMW offer you that OPEL , AUDI , MERCEDES , VW ETC. offer you , nothing , it is with regret that me and a lot of my friends, my brother which was huge on your product is done , because of this incident , I was the unfortunate one that had to find out the hard way . their is actually no service unless your car "breaks down "
we had to organize a trailer from Pietermaritzburg to take it to a BMW dealer there ,rent a car from Hertz to get home , took the whole day to get home I will make a plan to get the bike to Johannesburg , will ask my friend to collect when it arrives , will not service my bike with BMW ever again because the warranty means nothing
Had an accident in my MINI and BMW assist advised us to tow my car to Cedar Isle...which is not a MINI dealership and therefore they couldn't help me and we had to tow the car to Northcliff and pay for it...I have investigated the matter (called 3 times) and still awaiting a response!?!?!?

Who need to pay security deposit for courtesy car if my brand new (2 months old) BMW X3 is having a fault and the part is being ordered from Germany which will take 3 weeks. I am only going to get my car back in January and i don't have the R3000.00 to pay for security deposit to get that courtesy car. My car is very new and i did not put money aside for breakdowns because i did not expect that from a new car?
Rear Sir I HAD MY BMW 320 i e90 engine rebuilt last month,by a none bmw dealership,after driving for 50 km i noticed the head was leaking oil i returned the car to the service center collected 4 days later i was told the stretch bolts had been reused .i had done a total of 210 km before the head was replaced.
