People at the gates taking bribes.
These people are not secuirity guards but the stand by the gate and keep on making people who pay them the amount of R250 to skip the line skip the line without giving a gap for people who came early around 5am and earlier a chance to access Home Affairs. People spend hours and hours standing outside queuing in a stagnant line and the secuirity guards will allow these people from the gate to bring in their people which means that they are working together. We are being abused and it is not fair to those who cannot pay this R250 to access Home Affairs, this must be investigated. Home Affairs is a Public Department and is open to the rich and poor, let us stop abusing less privileged people

Birth Certificate
We applied for birth certificate in October last year up until now no certificate has been issued. Every time whe we go there to check they will always say come back its not yet ready. Now I got a call saying on Monday from the Pinetown Office telling me I must start all over again because the baby is now 1 year old and I have to under go an interview, now I am being inconvinienced and its not easy for me to be up and down the home affairs offices for something I did at an earliest convinience. I will be happy if my cry will be heard by the relavant and sort it out and if not I wll escalate further till I get my child`s certificate.

I'm still waiting for an unabridged birth certificate after 4 months and after filing the DHA25 and DHA288 twice. One of the officials could not even tell me the sequence of events that lead up to obtaining this certificate. I believe my paper work has not gone beyond the confines of that office for the simple reason that the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. I will not be surprised if I get another call to come and re-lodge this application after it mysteriously disappears from their system. I'm disgruntled and enraged that such ineptitude can be allowed to happen when people get paid to destroy other people's lives. I have lost revenue because I cannot obtain this certificate. What is a person to do really?

I would like to express my sincere thanks to Maria Scott and all her staff at the Pinetown Home affairs.
This weekend my son was invited to join friends for a holiday of a lifetime, only to discover his South African passport has expired. We arrived at opening time this morning and were
greeted by friendly warm people trying to solve our predicament. With a good team effort we submitted all the paperwork and were are happy to say we received the temporary passport before 12 O'clock. He is now on a holiday. This could not have been achieved without the helpful support of Pinetown Office of home affairs.
I very big thank you and well done. May you all have a blessed new year.
