LANDBANK - Ermelo

After the dawn of the new era in South Africa, born on 27 April 1994, Land Bank wanted to welcome the birth of a new country with open arms. The Bank knew it was poised for a multitude of fresh possibilities. The long awaited dawn that was a precursor to the realisation of dreams that hitherto unthinkable, let alone within reach, had come. And save for preliminary tension that is intrinsic to change and progression, throughout the Bank the mood was rich with optimism. The readiness to take our ploughshares into the field of the future that had arrived was emblazoned in bold. It was amidst this groundswell of good will and eagerness to take the Bank forward that Land Bank devised and adopted its current logo. Boasting a warm and earthy tonality, the logo sought to epitomise Land Bank’s

newfound spirit, mission and vision. It marks a celebration of the Bank’s values of pulling together in pursuit of service excellence and customer equity. To herald a new beginning that is full of hope, the image of a rising sun amidst an orange African horizon was created and juxtaposed with brown and green plough lines. Presented in a manner that almost portrays these lines as a bed, from which the sun emerges, this icon recreates the circular movement that forms the heart of African cosmology. The overarching message is one of an ever-evolving institution rooted on the continent, proudly South African and determined to be a catalyst for progress through agriculture and rural development in South Africa
