1) To subscribe to the teachings of the Ahle Sunnah Wal Jama'ah which together with the classical schools of law (Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi and Hanbali) form the basis for MJC's decrees and code of living. 2) To fulfil its obligation as an Islamic Judiciary by providing, sustaining and enhancing religious guidance to the community and establishing basic Islamic principles. 3) To commit itself to the general upliftment of the Muslim community by the provision of essential services relating to Muslim personal law and social needs. 4) Since the Muslim community is part and parcel of the South African and global society, it endorses dialogue between different communities and nations and is committed to the implementation for religious, social, economic and political programmes for the development
