FYNBOS PROPERTIES

Ferdie Vosloo started farming in Rust de Winter Irrigation Scheme (north of Pretoria) in the beginning of 1965. He successfully practised intensive farming, producing tobacco, cotton, wheat, citrus, soya beans and seed maize over a period of 23 years up to 1988 when the Nationalist Government expropriated his farm for incorporation into Kwandebele Homeland (North Eastern Transvaal). After getting compensated at Government evaluation of his property, which was by far not adequate to replace it, he eventually stopped farming and moved down to Swellendam in the Western Cape. Ferdie enrolled for and successfully passed the Estate Agent Board Examinations in June 1996 and started his own Estate Agency under the name of Fynbos Properties South Western Cape". residential properties, but soon realized that agricultural was where he felt at home and was soon specializing in Klein Karoo and game farm properties." At the end of 1996 he came in contact with a Buyer who needed around 20, 000 ha for a Wild life Reserve in the Western Cape - specifically under two and a half hours drive from Cape Town.
